UPDATE MARCH 2007: Joyce's dad passed away Saturday afternoon March 10th. It started with Flu and Pneumonia, then diverticulitis and having a perforation and colostomy.. After that there was internal bleeding at which time the doctors brought him back to life He never fully recovered from that and in the end we think he just wanted to join mom. We again ask for your patience during this trying time.
UPDATE APRIL 2006: Joyce's mom passed away Friday night April 21st from Pancreatic Cancer which had been diagnosed only 21 days earlier. We ask that you be patient as there WILL be a delay in processing your order as we work through this. We are working on orders as we can. Please pray for our family.

Dear Friends,
We would like to introduce ourselves to you. We are a family of four, Dan, Joyce, John, and Irina. John is 12 and he was adopted from Ukraine in October of 2000. Irina is now 7 years old and she was adopted from Russia in July of 2001. It was quite a busy year for us! We did both adoptions independently, without using an agency. Joyce's parents moved here to Ohio in August of 2005 to be near their grandchildren. At 86 years old, and retired for three years, they finally have time to be full time grandparents!
We purchased Friends Patterns in late April of 1996. We are the third owners, and have now owned it the longest! Friends has traveled from Ohio, to Florida, Colorado, Kentucky, Iowa, and back to Ohio.
We thank you for your encouragement. We really do appreciate all the prayers which have been sent our way.
Regarding our patterns, with the exception of a few multi-sized patterns, we do not keep stock on hand, but print patterns in batches as they are ordered. They are then folded by hand and sealed in their envelope. Due to the large number of masters that we deal with, we do occasionally make mistakes. We hope that you will be patient with us. Notify us as soon as you discover our error and we will cheerfully correct it.
Currently our schedule is to print patterns approximately once every 10 days. Printing is a multi-day process between the actual printing, preparing instructions and envelopes, folding, and filling orders. We use an ammonia based printing process and that demands breathing ammonia fumes as we work, so we must take frequent breaks.
This website will change as we get familiar with the process. It took long enough to "finish" it, so thanks for your patience!
